Janel Nuzum
Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Janel Nuzum is a lifelong resident of the Mid-Ohio Valley. She attended The Ohio State University College of Nursing graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2008. After working in psychiatric nursing for 3 years she was encouraged by her friends, family, and peers to return to Ohio State to further her education. In 2014 she completed her Master of Science in Nursing specializing in Psychiatric - Mental Health Nursing across the lifespan. In addition to prescribing medication, Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNP) utilize a broad range of psychotherapeutic treatment modalities. When necessary, they also provide psychotherapy.
Janel comes to us with three years of NP experience and is board-certified to treat children, adolescents and adults. She has a special interest in pediatric and family mental health as well as substance use disorders and mental health education. She is passionate about reducing the stigma of mental illness and increasing access to quality care. Janel is qualified to treat mental health, substance use, and dual diagnosis patients.
Outside of the office, Janel loves to spend time with her husband and three young children. They can often be found in the woods hiking or in the kitchen cooking together.
